About Geoff / Heavy Brain Space
Geoff is the creator and host of Heavy Brain Space, a project that merges space science, heavy music, and the pursuit of personal growth. A PhD candidate in space plasma physics at the University of Michigan and the vocalist of the band Splitfuse, Geoff built Heavy Brain Space to document the curiosity, creativity, and resilience required to follow passions that don’t neatly align.
What began as a personal outlet to connect his love of science and music has expanded into a mission: to inspire others to confidently chase their own paths, no matter how unconventional they seem. Through long-form explorations of space physics, behind-the-scenes looks at music and lyric writing, and raw reflections on mindset, discipline, and recovery, Heavy Brain Space is becoming a community pipeline for people bridging multiple worlds.
The project continues to grow as Geoff experiments with new formats — from podcasts and essays to YouTube series and live performances — always keeping authenticity and curiosity at the core. Heavy Brain Space isn’t about fitting into categories. It’s about proving that science, art, and mindset can reinforce each other, and that the heaviest thing you can do is live true to yourself.
